usually in March/April and our Fall/Winter sales are in September/October of
each year.
Q. Are children allowed on
opening day?
A. Yes: Although lines at checkout can be very
long. Children are not
allowed at our presales, unless you are breast-feeding and the baby is 6 months
or younger and in a sling.
Q. Are the sales located
indoors?
A. Yes: The sales are located
in air-conditioned/heated buildings.

Consignor Questions
Q. Who can consign their items and become a seller?
A. Anyone can
consign their children's and maternity items with Baby Consign. We
request that you have a minimum of 20 items or $50 worth of items.
Q. Do consignors get to shop
before the public?
A. Yes, consignors will shop
early on a designated pre-sale day.
Q. Are children allowed at the
presale?
A. Children under 13-years old
are not allowed at the pre-sales. Nursing infants are allowed any time in a sling device.
Q. What percentage of the
sales do I receive?
A. Consignors receive 70% of
their sales. We do have some
special incentives and ways to earn 80%. Go to our web-site for more
information. www.babyconsign.com
Q. Who does the pricing?
A. You set your own price and
decide if it is discounted on our half-price sale. Check out our merchandise prep
page for pricing guidelines. Or you can be a VIP Consignor and we will prepare your items for you. Email Jessica Perkins or more information on VIP Consigning at babyconsign@sbglobal.net.
Q. What percentage of my items
can I expect to sell?
A. Most sellers sell
approximately 80% of their items in sizes 2-10. For sizes under 24 months, the
percentage drops because of the
volume of merchandise received. The older children’s sizes (12-16) also
will sell a lower percentage since children become pickier as they near the
teen years. Items that are properly prepared sell very well. Have them clean and ironed if possible.
Q. How do I sign up to
consign?
A. Just go to our web-site www.babyconsign.com to register. You will receive an email confirmation
with in moments.
Q. How long should I give
myself to drop off my items?
A. We have a short check-in
process where you will turn in your waiver and receive your pre-sale pass. Your
items will be inspected and then you will place them in the designated areas
around the sales floor. If you have a lot of smaller items, you will want to
bring something to carry them in, such as a laundry basket, while putting them
out on the floor. Allow at least 45 minutes for drop off.
Q. When and where do I drop
off my items?
A. Drop Off will start on Wednesday night, September 29th and continue Thursday morning, September 30th. See the calendar for more details.
Q. When do I pick up my unsold
items?
A. You will be responsible for picking up your unsold items by 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 2nd or we will assume you have decided to donate your left over items to our local charity.
Q. What if I work and can't
make the pick-up time work for my schedule?
A. You are welcome to have a
friend pick up your items for you. If you know that someone else will be
picking up your items, please note such on your Consignor Waiver form at
check-in. If not, you will need to send a note to let us know that someone else
will be picking up your items. That person should bring his or her driver's
license for identification. Items that have not been picked up by 8:00pm,
Saturday, September 30th will be donated to our local charity.
Q. Do I have to sort through the racks to find my unsold items?
A. No, assuming we have enough
volunteers to aid with sorting, when you pick up your unsold items, your
hanging garments will already be sorted by Consignor Number for easy pickup. As
time and volunteer sign-ups allow, we hope to have all of the other items
sorted, as well. If not you will have to go to the large item areas and get your other items. Thank you for understanding.
Q. How long does it take to
receive my check?
A. Your check will be mailed
to you within two weeks after the end of the sale.
Q. Will I know what items have
sold?
A. Through our bar-coded
tagging system you will have an inventory of your sold and unsold items. If you
donate your unsold items, you will then have an inventory of your donated
items.
Q. Where do I find safety pins
and child sized hangers?
A. Safety pins (1" and
larger) are available at Target, Walmart, or any store that carries fabric and
sewing supplies. Unfortunately, Walmart has discontinued carrying the wire
hangers that we have used in the past. You can buy a dozen children's hangers at wallmart for $1.00. We suggest saving the child-sized
plastic hangers from your purchases and using these to cut down on cost. We
prefer child sized hangers (any type) and your items will look better and
therefore, will sell better. However, you are welcome to use what you
have.
Q. I have looked everywhere
and can't find child-sized wire hangers...what do you want me to do?
A. For now, use what you have.
If possible, please put the size 4T and smaller on child-sized hangers and the
size 5T and larger can go on the larger hangers. Walmart has children's hangers, 12 for $1.00.
Q. If I consign my items, do I
have to stay during the sale?
A. No. Consignors bring their
items during the designated drop-off times, have clothing inspected, put all
items out on the sales floor, then come back during the designated times to
pick up their unsold items (unless they choose to donate, in which case,
Consignors need not return). But, consider volunteering so that you can shop first!!
Q. What items are you taking?
A. We accept anything related
to babies, children, or maternity. The clothing must be current season. For our
Fall / Winter sale, we will be accepting only Fall & Winter clothing. Save your
Spring & Summer items for our April, 2011 sale. Other great items are toys, school uniforms, band instruments, books, videos,
strollers, baby equipment, nursery items, large play equipment (outdoor toys,
playhouses, etc.), sports equipment, toddler beds, bedding, cribs, changing
tables, maternity items etc.
Q. Even if this is a Fall / Winter sale, can I bring short-sleeved shirts?
A. We would like for you to
save these items for our Spring / Summer sale, but if the shirt is part of a
Fall / Winter outfit and easily looks as such, then you may. Use your best
judgement. We reserve the right to refuse any item if we see it does not
fit our criteria.
Q. What about shoes?
A. Please bring only your best
five (5) pairs of shoes. We will be picky at inspection, so please be picky
about what you bring!
Q. What about stuffed animals?
A. We accept only new with tag, or battery-operated stuffed animals (lights, sound, movement).

volunteer and attend the volunteer pre-sales?
A. Yes, anyone may sign up to
volunteer on a first come/first served basis. You do not have to be a consignor
to volunteer.
